About Beijing College of Politics and Law
Beijing College of Politics and Law, established in 1982, is a general higher vocational college approved by Beijing Municipal People's Government, filed by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. In 2012, the College has passed the inspection for construction of Beijing Municipal Higher Model Vocational Colleges with excellent achievements to be a municipal model higher vocational college which mainly educates the talents for legal assistant talents, practical legal talents and senior and middle security personnel. The College has also been the training base for clerks of Beijing High People's Court since 1999 serving as the Party School of Judicial and Law Enforcement Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of CPC and the Center of Urgently Needed Intermediate and High Level Legal Talents in Beijing as well as the designated unit for conference service of National People's Congress (NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The College has 5 departments and 1 teaching office of 21 majors including Social Law Work Department, Security Protection Department, Applied Law Department, Economic and Trade Law Department, Information Technology Department and Teaching Office of Fundamental Subjects, providing a series of professional program educations from professional qualification certificate study to college diploma education. The college has 4,500 full-time students, performing professional trainings for over 3,000 students in average. For over 30 years, the College has delivered more than 25,000 qualified graduates to political and law professions and the society, having been widely recognized by legal and modern service professions.
Located in the capital of China, the College is located at the east of Chaoyang District, adjacent to such famous universities as National Judges College, Beijing International Studies University and Communication University of China .Covering an area of 445 mu, the College owns the fixed assets of more than RMB230, 000, 000 and the teaching and research instruments totally valued at more than RMB94, 000, 000. It has 160 internal and external training bases (rooms), among which two are supported by central finance and two are for municipal demonstration training. There are more than 450,000 paper books in the library, and a number of cultural and sports facilities such as indoor stadium, bowling alley, outdoor basketball court, the grand and small auditoriums, etc. There are 383 existing staff including 206 full-time or part-time teachers and 68 professors, associate professors and other personnel with senior titles. The College has 2 majors of Legal Affairs and Judicial Information Security supported by central finance, 3 municipal level demonstration majors of Legal Secretary, Security and Justice Information Security, 1 national excellent course of Security & Defense, and 6 municipal or ministerial level excellent courses including Clerk Practice, Civil Procedure Law, Criminal Law Practice, Principles and Practice of Company Law, Application of Security Technology and Network Attack and Defense Technology.
Beijing College of Politics and Law is one of the earlier vocational colleges performing international cooperation and communication in China. At present, it has established cooperation and communication relationship with the famous universities and training organizations in more than 10 countries and regions, including America, Germany, Australia and Russia, etc. Since 2009, the College has developed the educational programs with diverse characteristics for foreign students, which mainly focus on Asian and European countries.
